With your help, we can do something about insurance fraud!

Thanks for visiting the Insurance Fraud Hotline and congratulations for taking action on a nationwide problem that is costing us all money — not just the insurance companies.

As an advocate of the insurance fraud investigation industry and realising the mass of information the community has and wants to share, I thought it was about time to do something about it.

The Insurance Fraud Hotline has been established to collect, check and pass on relevant information to applicable insurance companies.

Insurance fraud takes many forms and may include:

  • Reporting a loss, damage or injury that never occurred
  • Exaggerating a loss, damage or injury
  • Claiming for unrelated or pre-existing injuries
  • Arson and other intentional property damage
  • Staging accidents with the intent to submit a claim
  • Conspiring to support those involved in a dishonest claim

Far from being just a so-called 'victimless' crime against anonymous corporations, insurance fraud affects us all because it consumes valuable community resources and drives up the price of premiums.

As a conservative estimate, insurance fraud costs each Australian family an average of $400 each year — about $100 extra per policy.

That's money straight out of honest people's pockets. Which makes it important for us to all work together support legitimate claims and stamp out dishonesty!

Please join the community in this essential action: this is your opportunity to do something about a crime that, apart from its sheer dishonesty, shows contempt for us all.
